From Notting Hill to New York…Actually
We now have the back cover ‘book blurb’ for “From Notting Hill to New York…Actually” I can share with you…
Scarlett O’Brien, utterly addicted to romantic films, has found her leading man. She’s convinced Sean is Mr Right, but the day-to-day reality of a relationship isn’t quite like the movies. With Sean constantly away on business, Scarlett and her new best friend Oscar decide to head to New York for the holiday of a lifetime. From one famous landmark to the next, Scarlett and Oscar make many new friends during their adventure - including sailors in town for Fleet Week, a famous film star, and Jamie & Max, a TV reporter and cameraman. Scarlett finds herself strangely drawn to Jamie, they appear to have much in common: a love of films and Jamie’s search for a parent he never knew. But Scarlett has to ask herself why she is reacting like this to another man when she’s so in love with Sean …
Hope that wets your appetite. Cover coming soon…

This “Paperback Writer” was definitely “Please Please Me” “Yesterday”
Without giving too much away, some of you that have been following my escapades over the last few months in the name of ‘research’ for my next book, will know I’ve been doing a fair bit of music based research. A trip to Liverpool was also taken to research The Beatles. So when I found out that the Bootleg Beatles were going to be playing in my hometown of Cambridge last night, I had to go along and see them.
I didn’t really know what to expect. After all The Beatles are an iconic band, how can anyone even try to impersonate them? But I have to say the Bootleg Beatles do a damn good job of it!
After reading their website http://www.bootlegbeatles.com/ today I see they’ve been doing this for over 30years so they’ve had plenty of practise, and yet the John Lennon tribute (who was actually my favourite, he was brilliant!) has only been with the band since last year.
If you ‘don’t mind’ a few Beatles tunes, or you’re a die-hard ardent fan, I can thoroughly recommend this fantastic, nostalgic night out with the modern day ‘fab four.’

Day two of the new puppy, Oscar. This morning he went to the vet for his first set of jabs. Do you know they have puppy parties now where you can go and get your puppy used to being with other dogs of a similar age! It’s becoming more and more like having a new baby all over again!

Serendipity moment again….
I get some lovely emails from readers, but today I had one of those ‘Serendipity’ style moments that I love so much. This email was from a chap that picked up my book in a charity shop in London, and while he was on a ski-ing holiday in France he was reading it one day while sitting overlooking the local ice-skating rink. It was then he discovered a post-it-note in the book.
“This was written by Eleanors friends mum. Its her first novel. Don’t know what its like, hope its a good read. Love Sherry”
I can confirm it is the Mum of one of my daughter’s friends.
Wonderful Serendipity style moment! :-)
